Finding Patience in Teaching My Kids to Do Their Chores

How can I be more graceful in helping my son understand how life works in this physical world? For example, doing house chores or keeping his room clean. Sometimes I get frustrated and yell at him.

Dear Patience,

Speaking, ironically, it often takes a lot of Patience to deal with youths about to become adults. Chores and responsibility are the last things on their mind.

Our mother would tell me and my brothers to do our chores. When we ignored her and continued to play, she’d tell Dad, who had a more forceful approach. Then we did our chores! Whatever worked for our parents.

Do your best. Believe it or not, this stage of life will pass too.
